I to am addicted to this board, However I do have a plan of action. I will...make a quilt each month for the entire year of 2010!! Im so excited I have my first 6 planned and am currently purchasing fabrics and supplies. Starting in January with Anna's Albums pattern....and I have recruited a friend to do it with me, even more fun!! Of course i have a million friends pregnant right now as well...so there will be many baby quilts to go around but Im excited to do some real full size things!!
I want to know.... What are your goals for 2010? |
To learn every new quilting technique I can :D:D:D I am not sure how many quilts that will be...but that's my goal :D:D:D
|
Well my step daughter is getting married in March 2010 so I will be working on a double wedding quilt for them starting in January.
That's as far as I have planned LOL. |
I am hoping to stop staring at the fabric I bought this year, and actually do some cutting. I am finding it very difficult. I just want to look at it all the time....
|
2010 plans
1. I will make and deliver a baby quilt to a friend who's baby is due in February. 2. I will complete my sampler quilt (17 years in the making) 3. I will complete my dd#1's logcabin quilt. 4. I will find and make DD#2 quilt 5. I will make my mother a flower sampler of her favorite flowers 6. I will make DH a nautical quilt 7. I will help dgd make her first quilt. Almost a quilt a month :D |
1. Have a layer cake quilt quilted.
2. Make my grandfather's 80th birthday quilt 3. Quilt my sister's quilt 4. Quilt my nephew's quilt 5. Finish my other nephew's quilt 6. Make my son his robot quilt. 7. Make 6 totes. 8. Finish 3 WIPs. 9. Quilt 3 finished quilt tops. I think that will keep me busy! I just realised I am only starting 2 new quilt projects next year, yet I have many kits waiting to be made! |
My main goal is to get off the computer and actually do some quilting! LOL In cleaning/reorganizing my sewing room, I found kits I had put together that I had forgotten I even had! So, I kind of put things in order that I want to work on and plan to tackle then asap. Unfortunately, several are Xmas-y things that I had intended to actually get done this month....now they will have to be for next year. Right now with 2 in college, money is a little tight so I am telling myself no new projects till some of these are out of the way. But, gosh...that is so hard to do!
|
I have a PILE of WIP/UFO's I would like to complete one a month or two for each new project not counting what I need to do for next years craft fairs.
I would also like to quilt the tops that are waiting their turn to be turned into finished quilts:) |
To learn pp
tube quilting make a BOM for charity keep working on all the swapped blocks I have lear how to use some of the rulers I have sitting in a drawer. keep making quilts. |
To finish enough of my ongoing projects to actually justify starting a new one!
|
My goal for 2010 is to have a NEAT and organized sewing room by the end of January. As a result of the newly organized room I plan to finish all my UFO's and continue with my plan to donate any labor money to my dd and her new husband, missionaries in Haiti. I plan on having a quilt for my step-great-nephew whose brother I made the frog quilt for when he was born. I need to make my nephew and his wife a table runner as a wedding present. I need to make my daughter and her husband a queensize quilt - finally have all the fabrics. My youngest son needs a new quilt this year also. And I'll be finishing up my BOM quilt/curtains by July. I hope I can get all this done this year and maybe a few other things... we'll see...

There is already a thread for this marked "Resolutions for 2010." ;) Here's the link - simply because I'm too lazy to rewrite all my goals for the coming year. ;)

My 2010 Goals-
1. Get my niece's t-shirt quilt done by her birthday in February 2. start and finish a project challenge with a friend, who so generously sent me 3 beautiful inspiration books. 3. Do 6 quilt kits for Quilts for Kids and also add 6 quilts to be donated from my stash. 4. Start and finish a baby quilt for a dear friend expecting January. and I am sure there will be tons more to come. |
first I need to find my list of goals for 2009 to see what I didn't get done and move it to the 2010 list. :)
My goal is the Dear Jane. After that, whatever. Which I am sure will equate to numerous gifts, etc. (As I write this I realize I need 7 table runners for wedding shower prizes in May, will do in Jan. so I don't get behind.) And the quilt for reunion in August. I guess I better start a list now. |
Get the frame setup finished with the new handles and the cruise control AND ACTUALLY QUILT ON IT. I am a regular chickensh*** when it comes to FMQ - don't know why. So that is something to overcome in the new year.
|
my goals for 2010:
* get all of my unfinished projects finished * get a quilt done for my friends baby (Feb. 14) * only buy fabric as needed for projects * make some quilts for my grandbaby (due in June) * Clean and organize my sewing/quilting room, which is also supposed to be a guest room. * learn tube quilting * learn free motion without breaking a thousand needles per project. Sounds like that will keep me busy |
My goal for 2009 was to either find a sewing group or to start one. And, I have found and joined a sewing guild in New Smyrna, FL. I love , love , love my guild. From the first day I walked through the doors I was made to feel welcome and valued as a member. I am having so much fun with this group of wonderful ladies. It's a very active group with lots of classes and community projects to keep you just as busy as you want to be. I think 2010 will be a very good quilting year for me. So, I'm making my 2010 goal to post a lot of pictures on the board so that you can all share in the new things that I learn. I'm not very good at posting pics, so I'll work on that part of my goal.
|
Finding a good quilt guild is always wonderful! I know I can't imagine my life without the friendships I've made from my local guild.
|
My goal to begin in 2010 and continue . . . well, forever I guess, . . . is to make a charity quilt from the scraps of each quilt I finish. A one-to-one deal. I have lots on my to-do list, which I just happened to write out yesterday:
two lap quilts for my little boys four t-shirt quilts for my hubby finish two WIPs try quilt-as-you-go to make a Xmas bed quilt IRR II, Quilting Bee swap, Chocolate/raspberry swap . . . . and of course there are more waiting in the wings |
Well, first I need to start making quilts from fabric I purchased just because I loved it. I have bought probably 5 different lines of fabric with no idea as to what to do with it, I have enough of a couple for a king size bed.
I want to learn to do triangles and be really good at it. I have been afraid to start on the new fabric with triangles for fear of messing it up. Sounds silly I know. Also, buy no more fabric except backing for the above mentioned. I also want to improve on my FMQ. JulieM |

Tiffany, I appreciate your response. I have lots of scraps that I can practice on too. I might just try the table runner. I also bought the thangles and wonder if they make triangles easier?

Hello dear people.... you have made me feel soooo good by letting me know that I am not the only one with UFOs.... Great to read all about your goals. Mine is to actually go to a sewing safari in February. I am soooo looking forward to it. All I have to bring is myself and change of clothes.. It is 5 days and meals are included. Cannot wait... My other goal is to buy a Bernina Artista or Aurora with embroidery programme. Of course finishing my Baltimore and my tessalation double quilt. But that is nothing compared with all the other small UFO I have... ha ha ha ciao
|
My goal is to finish some of the ones I have started and put away. I would also like to use some of the fabric I bought this year.
|
-To finish organizing my sewing room
-Finish quilting my Turning Twenty quilt -Start and finish several kits I have among my quilting projects -The list can get much longer, but I think I'll start with the above three  |
