I have to measure and go slow or my pieces don't measure correctly LOL so cutting is my least favorite
|
Getting the fabrics ready to cut can be time-consuming. I'd rather be piecing or quilting! :)

Cutting the quilt out! After that would be sewing the binding on.

I dislike doing borders!! I always hated trying to cut long pieces straight until I learned here to tear the pieces. That is so much easier because it tears straight but, I still trim 1/4" off the torn edges. Not as bad as cutting the whole thing.
My quilts usually end up waiting a long time for me to get the will to do the borders. |
I'm not real fond of the sandwiching either. Though I have trained DH very well on how to help me. That and he has keys to the church where we go and push tables together.
Mine wait a long time to be quilted. I only have my Bernina to quilt on and I have a hard time coming up with a good quilting design to use. I am very weak in that area. |
For those of you who hate the sandwiching part of large quilts, why not have someone with a longarm do the basting for you? That way you can get it put together with no tucks in the backing.
|
I find myself most frustrated w/the sandwiching and basting. Some projects are a challenge to quilt on my DSM, maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to own that LA I'm dreaming of. Unlike a lot of you, I enjoy the handwork of stitching down the binding - I find it relaxing and it lets me take time to appreciate the project I just finished.

That is why I tried the Sharon Schambers method with the two boards. I always called on my kids and grandkids to do the floor work, after I became unable to do it myself, but now I can sit or stand at the dining room table and do the sandwiching without any others help.
