I have read the term "squishy" in multiple postings. I realize it is something that makes people happy when they get it. But what the heck is it?

Tippy 05-21-2009 08:54 AM

A squishy is a soft package.. like those yummy manila bubble envelopes , that has a soft gift inside.. frequently gifts of fabric, etc. Or fabric that has been ordered and finally comes "home" to you.

Thanks for the explanation. No wonder squishies make people happy. :D

I got a squishy package yesterday that wasn't so squishy. 8 yards of fabric crammed into a priority USPS envelope! It was taped to death to keep it from bursting but it got here.

Martina, I'll send you a squishy to make you happy :)

Thanks for the thought. I'm pretty happy as is. What I need is a squishy wrangler. My sewing room is out of control and my last few purchases have not found a home yet.

Ducky 05-21-2009 09:45 AM

Ooooooh, I hear ya. I lost control of my room and all the fabrics, books and gadgets quite a long time ago. Somehow one of my diningroom chairs even ended up in there. (I like the thought of a squishy wrangler, lol.)

i just got one from Thousands of Bolts. they have the Glacier Park line in stock.

i ordered 20 yards for $67.15 and the shipping was $8.87 - what a great deal.

so far this is my favorite online shop.

Me too! Don't know which is nicer -- getting one or receiving one :D

They are always nice to get, but I love sending them and then being on pins and needles until it arrives! So much fun, like getting someone something special for Christmas, and then can't wait until they open it! :D

I think it's 50/50 for me!
Especially if the squishy is a surprise! Love to hear the squeals when they get them. Yes, I can hear the squealing all the way across that big pond! lol

sandpat 05-21-2009 04:20 PM

I love them going both ways and yes...I've heard a squeal from across the pond too! Funny how those things echo!!

Chele 05-21-2009 04:28 PM

A squishy = a good day! Given or received!

You are quite a dictionary, Chele!! Not only for me.

We all love getting squishy packages. And them touching the contents. MMMMM........ nice.

Shemjo 05-21-2009 07:20 PM

Love the concept of a squishy wrangler!

mytwopals 05-22-2009 07:03 AM

I'll volunteer to be the squishy wrangler, if I get to keep all that I wrangle....

Granted, English is my second language, but isn't "getting" and "receiving" the same thing? (I think there is a Freudian slip in the original message) ROFL.

You might also like Bear Paw Quilting for fabrics at a great price with good shipping rates. I order from them as well as Thousands of Bolts and like them both equally.
