What's the best fabric for a thread catcher
 

At a recent class someone had knitted a thread cancer and it really caught the threads. I'm looking for a fabric to make one and wanted advice.

I don't know but wonder if something lined in a slick material such as satin might be better than plain cotton fabric. I would LOVE to see your avatar quilt better?????

Those that I've seen are made of quiting cottons with bare batting inside the bag to catch the threads. An iron--on batting would work well here.

I would think anything with a nap would work. Flannel, fleece or corduroy for example. Possible microfiber.

I should make one of these. Right now I use a plastic bobby pin box with a wad of painter's tape inside! ;)

I bought on at a craft show this last summer and I love it. It is made of cotton. It has the pin cushion and a piece of that rubber shelf liner on the pin cushion part to stay put.

I put some double sided tape on a bit of Velcro (the scratchy hook side) and stick that where I need it! I also put the Velcro on the inside edge of my scrap bin to catch the scraps and threads. Works for me!

It's all a personal choice I'm sure you can use whatever you like Something that Makes You Smile every time you look at it!!
I have 4 different thread catchers around my sewing room and each one is made out of different material. But the make me happy when I look at them. have fun let your imagination fly......
