I don't know the name of the block, but it would be super easy to make it paper pieced, even if that particular one wasn't done as such.

I agree that it is probably a paper pieced pattern. Each of the four points of the star would be a square and then 4 would get sewn together.

Actually, i think the star is a secondary pattern. I'm pretty sure that the blocks are the 'ray' blocks, and how they come together forms the star at the intersections. And I'd paper-piece it, too, so I know all my seams line up!

I don't know but I like it.

I think I've seen it before but don't know the name. I think if you study the block you could probably make your own pattern. Maybe cut a square and start folding until you have it. It may take more than one attempt. I have figured out blocks from pics this way.

Looks like a variation (it's rays are wider) of the Endless Chain block. http://www.quilterscache.com/E/EndlessChainBlock.html

bizzyquilter 02-23-2011 07:19 AM

could it be pin wheels???

sueisallaboutquilts 02-23-2011 09:03 AM

It sure is pretty!!

fabric_fancy 02-23-2011 09:12 AM

could it be the endless chain from quilterscache except using the pattern fabric where that site has the background color

I would get a plain piece of paper,12 inch square, draw the pattern on the paper.I would go down 1 1/2 inches down, over all sides.Connie in CO
