Are your batiks fabrics a planned group, or were they spur-of-the-moment purchases?
Did you have a project in mind when you bought them? Do you have mostly "prints" or mostly "solids"? Do you favor those with mostly one color-family in them, or ones with a greater number of different colors in them? |
Mine are spur of the moment, planned and unplanned, some projects in mind, most not a clue, about equal amounts of prints and solids, many are multi colored :D:D:D

Um, all of the above!!! When I get a good deal on a fabric I like I would just buy some of it. Most of the time I do NOT have a project planned when I buy fabric. Though that will have to change now that I am no longer working outside the home. I will need to curtail my spur of the moment fabric purchases!!

I buy what I like any chance I get. Usually not planned, but I do occasionally look for the planned.

I have everything in my batik stash! I am moving soon and it is so overwhelming to look at all of the boxes and boxes and know that they have to be loaded up for my journey.
My stash, machine collection and Gammill are making it serious work to finding a new house. |
multi color, most have no design, just deep rich tones or pastels, no project in mind when bought; however, that has changed!
the multi colors have the WOW factor other fabrics don't have, i think that is why they are so attractive! |
I didn't even know what they were until I came across some on sale at an online fabric store. I loved them. I purchased a gold with golden leaves impinted and an orange also with gold leaves. I had to look up what Batiks were online. I love the vibrant colors of the ones I bought. No, I have no idea what im going to do with them, someday it will come to me.

Just starting that one ;)

I just discovered batiks and love them. I have started my stash by buying a variety of 1 yard cuts from my LQS' clearance room as they move them in there.
|
I have a couple of fat quarters and that's it. Kind of new to them. They were not my first pick at the LQS but they are wearing on me now. So are the 30's fabrics. In the beginning all I liked were the Civil War prints. I'm seeing other things that I like now. ;)
