What's your favorite kind of blender fabric?
 

Please tell us what your favorite "blender" fabric is, and why you like it.

Is it the color? Or the visual texture created by the print? Or do you like it best for some other reason?

What I would call background?

I really like to use Kaufman Fusions for blenders. It gives the appearance of being a blender from a distance but closer you see the pretty floral design. Another reason I like them so much is they are so versatile. They usually have enough different tones in them that you can mix and match them very easily with anything from Asian prints to Batiks to country colors like thimbleberries or CW repros.

I also like marbles. No brand loyalty on those. I have used Moda or P&B or any brand I find that works. And never underestimate the power of a good solid like Kona or Moda Bellas.

All of the above. :) A lot of my quilts are 'blender only' because I treat fabric as paint and I want my quilt design to stand out more than any individual fabric used to create it...from a distance and up close.

Versitility is also very important. If a blender 'blends' with only one other fabric or color, it may be gorgeous but it's use is limited. If it bridges two or more colors, values, or intensities, it is much more versitile and thus more useful to me. Color is perceived differently depending on the neighboring colors and that can be used to great advantage with blenders.

The Kaufman fusion blenders... all of them , the metalic blenders( including the imperial) are still a "go to" as well as the other non -metallic still are my favorites. Second is Fossil Ferns , as they go with batiks as well as many traditional, but they discontinued one of my favorite colorways , the almond , so I have been on the look out for a suitable replacement for my stash. And as a stash/staple in metalics , the P&B luxury blenders ( just wish there were more colors)
Once in a blue moon I get a Moda marble ... but that is only if the fusion ( the one with the viney flowers/ferns) is not available in the color I need. That particular Kaufman fusion has more interest to it , but not over powering , I just hope they keep printing it for a long time.

I like Michael Miller Krystals, I love the feel and how they cut, also love all the colors.

Ah ...
I like white and cream backgrounds, particularly white on white.
Also, white or cream with very small dots, circles, whatever.

I love them all! Fusions would probably be my favorite, then South Seas Complements, Wilmington Essentials and marbles of various varieties. I rarely use solid fabrics, but love to use the blenders in my quilts.

I am a huge fan of Robert Kaufman Fusions. Love most all of them. Have lots of them in my stash!

I love using batiks as blenders. My favorite batiks are monotone in color with no "stamping" design. Just mottled color. I'm currently trying to collect a wide variety of grey tones - very hard to find as most batik greys have a hint of another color (blue, green, or tan).
