We are expecting two grand children in the spring and I am wondering what everyone's favourite baby quilt patterns are. The choices are limitless so I need suggestions.

Wow! I love making baby quilts! I found My Fav' pattern in Quick Quilts Magazine, Dec/ Jan 2011, PG. 40. If you enjoy curved piecing or want to learn how or improve your skill, this is the one. It is fast. I just made less blocks so the finished quilt is about 36" square, give or take a little.
Two colors is all you need, or not! I love polka dots for babies and I add a lace or satin ruffle for a girl or boy. If I ever figure out how to post pictures I will do so. Congrats to all who get to love these babies! |
D9P in pastel colors. Pinwheels are good too.

I love the Super sized 9 patch because it's fast and easy.

I like applique for babies - my granddaughters got my avatar and boys different ones, one was airplanes the other trucks/tractors

I like Billie Lauder's, "There's a Dog on my Quilt." I just made a variation of it with 2 cats for our newest grandbaby.
You can google for the original Dog version. Here's a link to the cat variation: http://www.easymade.com/video_quilt_pattern.html |

I like Haley's Quilt. I just can't seem to figure out where I put that pattern. And I have been looking for it for along time. So I sorta kinda think that it may be in Storage in a box of patterns I have. Its a very easy pattern.

HeartN'Soul...it is free download from Red Rooster fabrics and can be made in any colour. It is fast, fun and a nice size for a baby quilt.

See my avator. It's a square in a square. The one I show has robots in it. It is the easiest one for me and doing one in a day is not far fetched. Of course, nothing else gets done!

i have a quick pattern to do in aday you quilt as you go.
18"by 6" rectangle-two differnt fabrics. reversible I like flannel so I may do one with pink on one side and green on the other. I did the last one with printed pink fabrics on front, black and white with zebra stripes on the back. The first round is cut both fabrics 6 wide by18 long cut the batting slightly smaller sandwhich them baste around. Next round same measurements-WORKS LIKE a big log cabin block. I use my walking foot. It can be as large or small as you want it, You can add additional decorative stitching once sewn together. It tooks very nice. The rounds get longer but the panels stay 6 inches wide. |
