Wheel of Pattern???
In Joe Cunningham's class description for "Pattern-Free Quiltmaking" he mentions using the wheel of pattern.
What is it? I didn't have any luck googling it. |
Is it just a list of the colours put in a round?
|
is he talking about a color wheel?
|
sounds like a device he uses to make the class fun and to show you how you can mix ideas, colors, prints, techniques, etc.
"Go where your idea and fabric take you in this free-spirited approach to making art with fabric. Then spin the super-scary Wheel of Pattern, and watch Joe take three random ideas and turn them into a pattern-free quilt." |

"It is a Wheel of Fortune-style invention of mine where each time you spin it, the wheel lands on a new instruction for something to do to your quilt block. "Insert two strips," or "Replace one corner with another fabric," for instance. There are eight stops on the wheel and you could create an original pattern by spinning once, twice or three times and performing the prescribed actions on each block. It is shown clearly in lesson seven, where I use it to create my own blocks. Joe" |
Sounds like fun- mystery quilt.:)
