I too would recommend checking with the intended facility first as they often have different
requirements. Our guild made shaped wheel chair quilts that covered the feet and wouldn't
drag in the wheels (and snow) and used this pattern with very good results.

The soldiers angels site gives the size as: Size: Approximately 36" x 48”...that is the size I have made for wheelchair patients, and it seems to be a good size.

warm is NOT usually the issue..safety first is always the issue! We did ours this size and then put a pocket were the lap would be, so they could keep things in it. We filled the pocket with a small pocket comb, pocket tissues and some goodies!

I'm in a wheelchair. I know how to tuck stuff in to stay safe. I don't need stuff that doesn't serve the purpose it's intended for.

Thank you, Ladies. I will contact the VA. If they prefer a larger size, then that's what I will do, on my own.
