When you are hand stitching binding do you match the color of your thread with the binding or the backing? Green binding, white backing.

I match the binding.

I always go with the binding color

Binding.
I go with the binding color also :)
I always match the binding & when it is quite a bit of difference between the colors I make sure that I do the tiniest stitches possible.
I match the binding, but I ladder stitch, so it doesn't show anyway.
binding. :)
I use the binding color too.

Definitely the binding.

I am the weirdo! I do everything in White. All I use is white thread, LOL. Got tired of trying to match colors all the time. Which ever you chose it will look good. You won't see much of the thread anyway.

Learned the ladder stitch so last binding I used a color that did not match to be sure my stitches were hidden. Fun!
I tend to match the backing or use a neutral. I use a blind stitch and if a stitch shows the thread will disappear on the backing if they match.

Binding

I normally use pale gray for everything...very rarely does it just not blend in with whatever color. I also do ladder stitch.
Me too Cloverpatch. They don't show at all especially after washing.
I match the backing. With a blind stitch the thread is hidden inside the binding and catches on the backing. (Does that make sense?) Doesn't show at all on binding.
What is a ladder stitch?

I like to bind with the backing fabric, so I never have to worry about that!
