Can you ask your aunt to take a picture of the quilt for you? Then we could be sure to figure it out so you can make another.
Too bad she took the quilt from you. Maybe you could ask her for it back? Or ask her to leave it to you in her will? |
With your dad being a carpenter , I am thing that it might be . My husband is a builder and my sister in law made him a beautiful quilt in this pattern. Here is a pattern for the block ... Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for to be able to have the comfort again ... Hugs Davena

I would ask your aunt if you could at least get a photo of it. My DGM and I and my cousins worked on a crocheted table cloth. It was beautiful. When she passed away we went looking for it. I was getting married and wanted to use it for the bridal table and would pass it on to my cousins. Found it in her garage. My one cousin used the designs from the lace patterns to paint his car hood with a lace design. It was in pieces. My dad nearly ripped him to pieces. I hope you get to get close or at least a good photo of the quilt to be able to make a replica. Praying for the good of it.

Could you draw a picture of what you remember what it looked like?? Perhaps that will jog some memories?? Someone might remember the name.

There is an old picture of DH's Mother and her sister in existence and we'd like a copy of it, but when we asked DH's sister about getting it done - she actually said NO. Her excuse is: she won't get it back, and that's absolutely crazy.
I really can't believe some people can be so mean. Not asking again. Lived fine this long without it. |

The only comfort I had was a red and white quilt that my fathers grandmother made for him was left behind, so I claimed it and slept with it every night. The pattern remind me of a round saw blade...dad was a carpenter, so they seemed to go together.
He was born in 1914..must have been an old pattern and probably paper pieced. His sister walked off with the quilt when he died. Would love to make one similar to it. Can anyone tell me the pattern name? Thank you. |
