I have read in several magazines that you should replace it after each project. I wonder if these suggestions are made by the people who make needles. lol. I change mine when it seems to be getting dull or breaks.

i'm bad and don't change mine terrible often. i did make a bench pad cover out of rather thick decorator fabric, so after that i did change to a new needle.
