Rachel 12-24-2010 08:31 AM

patricej 12-24-2010 08:37 AM

Other then that , maybe December 20th 2011  LOL

fireworkslover 12-24-2010 08:58 AM

I already started for next year, last week. I'm making myself a new tree skirt. Found a pattern and fabric I love, now to figure out how to make a French braid and put it together.

Scissor Queen 12-24-2010 09:03 AM

If I'm going to do something quilted for Christmas I try and start no later than September. I will only do small projects like table runners or pillows or something similar for Christmas.

amma 12-24-2010 11:09 AM

I have started a few throughout the year for Christmas 2012 :D:D:D

kreinhart742 12-24-2010 04:45 PM

trupeach1 12-24-2010 04:48 PM

KwiltyKahy 12-24-2010 05:00 PM

Nest Year? I'm still trying to get LAST year done.

lynmccoy 12-24-2010 08:00 PM

December is my month off,so I won't be starting on any 2011 quilts til January. After that I'll be making them til November.

QuiltswithConvicts 12-24-2010 08:18 PM

hahahaha!

Marye 12-24-2010 08:25 PM

I want to make some quilted ornaments for my red hatters friends. I am so slow so I better start Jan 3 after all the bowl games are over. Merry Christmas to all.

Jill 12-24-2010 08:27 PM

I like to start in the summer but I'll be having shoulder replacement surgery sometime next summer, so my 2011 Christmas quilting might be done very early next year or not at all.

Aunt Retta 12-24-2010 08:36 PM

I want to do several quilts for next year. One I wanted to do for this year, it is too bad I didn't get it done, because the sister I want to give it to is here from several states away this Christmas. I also want to do one for two other sisters. Then the other three sisters for 2012 Christmas. I have a chronic disease and want to make sure they each get one before I am gone. First I am going to make me two quilts to replace the two I made for myself thirty years ago. One of them will be super fast, So I hope to start in Febuary with my sister's quilts!

Boscobd 12-24-2010 09:14 PM

I usually get the hankering to start Christmas quilting around July - when it's really hot in AZ!!

Giving yourself plenty of time, lol

chamby 12-25-2010 04:48 AM

I would like to start around June or July. But, I say that every year.

sewcrafty 12-25-2010 05:02 AM

Well, I actually ran out of time on one gift!! Its a 101 x 108 quilt for my fil's bed!! He got the top in a box, so next week I get to start quilting it!! Oh well, didn't want to rush and screw it up, so the finished product will be just a little late! Oh embarassing!! Good intentions though.

I have seen on emblibray.com a neat project. Putting an applique made from touille or organza on a pillar candle. I'm going to try this. My daughter wants me to make a thanksgiving and cristmas quilt for the g baby. We started a tradition in our family, I made pj's alike for all of us to wear Christmas eve/Christmas morning. So off to Hancocks/JoAnns to find Christmas fannel cheap for next year. Merry Christmas everyone....looking forward to another wonderful year on this board.

We are suppose to get some snow today as well. It is not here yet. I do pray that we get at least 3 inchs.

deema 12-25-2010 05:18 AM

I hope to start no later than August. I have three oversized throw quilts to make for next year. This year, I finished my last project as the recipient was on the way to my house for the gift exchange!!

willowwind 12-25-2010 05:26 AM

I guess I should do at least 1 new Christmas quilt per year. That may be a new goal for the coming year. I didn't do one for 2010 since I already had many. Maybe I'll catch some Christmas fabric on sale in the after Christmas sales. I can get the fabric then & figure out a quilt to make afterward.

When you figure out how-to a French braid please let me know. I love that pattern BUT I must have it blocked in my wittle brain cuz I can't put it together (probably very easy and I'm trying too hard). Thanks.
Have a blessed New Year

atvrider 12-25-2010 05:40 AM

I just finished 3 Christmas quilts (1 more row to quilt on one and then I will quilt the small one later today). I still have one more Christmas quilt to make that my husband bought last year. (I think he wants me to stay out in the garage)

Bluehouse 12-25-2010 06:39 AM

Yes ! That is what I am thinking too.....I will start right now on next year ! LOL...(we can start right in on the projects we didn't get done for this year)
I will be sure to keep you updated throughout the year on how I am doing !
Merry Christmas Everyone !

hperttula123 12-25-2010 07:03 AM

I will be starting tomorrow or the next. I've been to sick to do much and now need to clean up my house first. But I would love to have a bunch of stuff done so all I don't have to worry about this next year. I have been sick right on christmas for the past 4 years. I need to learn to get it done early!!!

kayutanurse 12-25-2010 08:20 AM

I always start planning a year ahead of time and sometimes even buy the fabric. But there are plenty of times that the end result doesn't happen until several years later if at all!! I teach LPN's (adults) full time year round and it isn't always easy to find the time or energy to complete even the smallest projects. That's why my house is full of UFO's.

crazyforquilting 12-25-2010 08:20 AM

I have good intentions. Try to start in January but end up starting in November. Never know what to give all and then wind of finding new things to make in December. I will never learn.

CorgiNole 12-25-2010 08:42 AM

I have not finished this year's yet! LOL I think I would like to do one thing a month. But postage is making me rethink the whole idea! Cost me a bundle this year and still has not made it yet to destination.

charming2 12-25-2010 11:12 AM

I plan to "play" in my sewing room today. Christmas celebrating got done on the 23rd and 24th. I have a Dollies Dresses wallhanging on my design board
I started it in the summer but switched over to a blue, yellow, and green
bed-size quilt for my Florida granddaughter. She got it this Christmas.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my fellow quilters.May you get alot of quilting done in 2011!

quiltingnonie 12-25-2010 11:41 AM

I have ALWAYS maintained the best time to do Christmas sewing is in January! Love getting the fabrics on sale :)

stichinluvr 12-25-2010 12:43 PM

I moved and just found the fleece to make my Oklahoma kids their snuggies for this year. Then I'll think about what comes next (maybe)

Scakes 12-25-2010 12:44 PM

At the rate I've been going lately, I should have started yesterday. :)

charming2 12-25-2010 12:46 PM

I tried to resist buying more fabric, but just happened to see a particular one on sale, and so, I bought it online on Dec. 24th.
Merry Christmas to me! I hope that I can resist other sales in January and beyond. I already have too much fabric!
