I purchase fabrics at many places. JoAnn's, LQS, and online (some of the same as are listed above). My favorite though is the Daily Deal at these two sites.

Fabric.com is one that I buy from frequently. Other than that I just browse on-line shops for good sales. A good place to start with the on line shops if the Fab Hop Shop list.

I buy from Connecting Threads, Keepsakes, Marshall Dry Goods, and other online shops that have a great sale or clearance price. With word of mouth that spreads like wild fire on the internet, not many online shops can afford to not have great customer service. I post on every quilt board and yahoo group I'm a member of if I have terrible customer service and also I post about the great customer service. One negative post is like 10,000 no sales. Most good web stores stores know about that proven statistic.

95% of my fabric purchases *outside the local quilt shop* is from fabric.com. i've been shopping with them for over 10 years- even when i made more clothes than quilts- they offer free shipping at the $35 level & i can always spend $35.
they have a huge selection and great prices- wonderful customer service...i really recommend them to everyone shopping for fabric away from their local quilt shop. i at times buy something from a couple others---but the majority of my fabrics come from them.

I buy from LQS, walmart JoAnns, Hobby lobby, and a lot of the on line sites I have read about on this board and all of the on line fabric has been good quality. Also check out rummage sales, goodwill, and some times auctions.

I buy from my local shop and online at fatquartershop.com and missourquilt.com

I shop online almost exclusivity there is a shop an hour away that I don't get to go to very often. I love keepsakequilting.com (they have medleys and it takes all the guess work out), Hancocksofpaduach.com (they have the best sales on the major manufacturers fabric $5-6 a yard), crazyquiltgirlfabricshop.com has the lowest regular price on Moda precuts, jelly rolls and charms and layer cakes. Jellyrolls2go.com has all the older moda lines that you can't find anywhere else. fatquartershop.com has a great selection but they charge top dollar, the sales are good though. Missouriquiltco.com has a daily deal and no matter what you order $5.00 flat shipping. If your looking for a fat quarter and a great selection 4my3boyz.com has it. I will shop Joanns.com for batting but even though I have an APO it take 6 weeks I don't know how slow there shipping is in the states. Hope this helps and happy quilting!!!

I shop at a LQS, JoAnn's, online and at e-bay depending on the item I'm looking for. I shop sales, use coupons and deals. Online I shop happily with:

Nancy's Notions (for items I can't find anywhere else.)
A Notion to Quilt ([email protected])
Charlotte's Sew Natural
cottonpatchfabrics.com
Favorite Fabrics
Fabrics.com
Stitch-n-frame
Homespun Hearth
I shop e-bay for specialty items or stash builder boxes. (check # of sales & feedback on sellers before buying)
I also get a lot of newsletters from the shops I like so I can take advantage of any real good sales.

I just got a box of 50 fat qtrs from e-bay for $49.99 with no shipping!

My first choice is ConnectingThreads.com.....great service, fast shipping, wonderful sale prices and the fabrics are great. My next stop is Walmart.....their fabrics are greatly improved in the last year (yes, you can still find junk) and they are only 4 miles from home. If all else fails I drive the hour and go to JoAnn's with my 50% coupons or go to LQS and try not to cry when I see the prices.

I buy only from the LQS where I work. I don't get around much, and get the employee discount.
