I have all the June Taylor rulers (Shape Cut) and absolutely love them. I find them invaluable.

Call the quilt in a dy store and ask them what she was using and I'm sure they can tell you . Good luck and happy quilting.

I have one but I dont hardly use it. So far I'm pretty accurate with just using the regular rulers. I guess it would be perfect of you hand to make alot of strips at a time. I would never get rid of it tho. I'd probably kick myself in the butt if I did!!

Bought mine at Hancocks. Or at least it sounds like what you are talking about.

It was a large sheet with slots 2 1/2 inches apart. You could cut accurate 2 1/2 in strips in just seconds with this ruler, template, cutting tool or whatever it's called. It looked like the measurements were 24x24. I found something similar on the Quilt in Day website: http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...lay.asp?i=1884 but I know what Eleanor used was larger because she folded her fabric in half and was able to cut the entire length of fabric and it was also square. While I was looking I also found this great resource: http://www.softexpressions.com/softw...ndexRulers.php I hope someone knows where to find this because it would certainly save a lot of time while ensuring accuracy. Thanks for any help you can give me. I have a 24" ruler with slots. If I'm not real careful,I'll put my blade in the wrong one then cut a piece of material that's less than I need, or more. If you are tignt on your fabric allowance, you can't be wasting a whole strip that isn't teh correct width. Painters tape or something easily removed works well. |
