I am making baby bibs for my nephew's new baby. My problem is I bought a Dritz Snap tool and the only snaps I could find @ Michaels are not working . Very frustrating!!! The little pronged ring bends out of shape or doesn't line up . Joann's doesn't have any. Does anyone know where I could find better snaps? Size 7/16 (11mm).Or do you think it is the tool?Any ideas????

Why not just use a small piece of Velcro? You can get them in the shape of a circle or square.

I have never had success with the tool. I always use pliers.

Those tools are so frustrating! I would use velcro or snap tape (this is like bias tape with plastic snaps sewn in, so you cut the size tape you need and sew it on.)

Joann's should carry snaps, I have bought them there before or Hancock's.

Years ago I bought a set from Bee Lee in Texas and it still works fine. I got the snaps from them too and they are great.

Joanns carries the Dritz. Just bought some about a month ago.

What about the sew on ones. I have some of them but will never use them.

I never had luck putting snaps on with that tool either. I thought I was doing something wrong. I would use velcro I think.

I vote for the Velcro, too. Just remember to put the fuzzy side facing toward the bb & scratchy side out.

I vote to skip the snaps and use velcro, you can even buy the velcro dots, just make sure they are not sticky. The glue gums up the sewing machine.
