I need some help here. I am a nurse home visitor that works with low income, high risk first time mums and babes. We have a bunch of sweet ladies who make quilts that our mums are so excited to receive on the birth of their little ones. The ladys are running out of fabric and our organization would like to thank them for their generosity by replenishing their supplies. However, our program ins on a really tight budget so they have put me in charge of finding some rock bottom prices on infant/child type material. The moms expecially like the gender specific blue and pink but also love winnie the pooh, mickey mouse and primary color ones much like the eye spy quilts. Any suggestions on sites with great closeout prices would be appreciated.

I always check scrap bins and clearance racks and when find childrens prints, no matter what sizes, if price is right I buy themand put them up for later use. You can use small pieces of childrens prints with bold colors, pastels, stripes, etc and make some cute baby quilts and small childrens quilts. Also all my quilting friends and ladies in local guild give me their scraps as our church makes them for childrens hospital and local foster kids.

Try www.fabric.com. They have a $1.95/yd. clearance section that would likely have things you can use. They also have a Clearance section where the prices are 20%, 30% and 50% off. Free shipping over $35, too. Great customer service. They are MY online fabric source of choice.

Good luck.

Also check Marshall's. If there is not one near you try googling to see where local one is or look them up on internet. I have bought a bunch from them. CLosest one about an hour from me.

I'm sure you have Craigslist there in PA, try posting an ad asking for free fabric and be sure and include why you need it. I did that when I started up a sewing class. I had to fund it so asked for donations of material and notions. Granted, I got a lot of stuff I couldn't use, but I got a lot of stuff I could so it worked out.

I will give it a try, thanks.
