I was scrolling around today and happened upon a post that someone had written about a class they had taken to help them organize their stash. They were organize by color and hue, size, can't remember what else.
I've been looking for it all evening. Checked various ways under the Search heading but still no luck. Rrrr.... Does anyone else remember seeing this? If so could you head me in the right direction? Thanks! |

THis has been a big encouragement for my organizing attempts. |
Yes! Made some beautiful quilts and has many patterns for our enjoyment. She so enjoys sharing her knowledge. I am glad my DSIL made me go back and REALLY look at that site.

So far, no luck...
The lady mentioned who held the workshop. Denise?? Not sure. She posted pictures of the various stacks of material sorted by sizes. Mostly blues and maybe a few beiges. The instructions were to cut scraps to the size that was closest to the various sizes that would be useful in future quilts. Make any sense?? Do like that quiltville scrapuser system site! Beautiful quilts. |

Are you thinking of the Scrap Therapy cutting classes? Here is a link to a thread about them:

This is what I'm working on to use up some of my scraps. Quiltville is awesome.

Bonnie Hunter has the best quilting website and blog. Most of her patterns are free and her book is fun to read and the patterns are super nice. I am a big Bonnie Hunter fan.

THis has been a big encouragement for my organizing attempts. I suspect that Miss Bonnie is more organized than most people who follow her lead. And, on one of these threads I was reading about taking a box of my scraps and starting to work through them, but it never seems less full - - I concur! I have a theory ... as long as I keep the lid on the box, the fabric is compactly packed ... the moment I lift the lid and start sewing pieces together, the air causes the fabric to expand ... I spent a WEEK one time sewing flying geese, and I promise you! I had MORE fabric in the box I started with than when I started. So, I am thinking: Maybe I ought to just admit I have a lot of scraps and let it go at that <g>. Actually, if you read Miss Bonnie's explanation of what she is doing, she set a goal for herself to NOT go buy more fabric at the LQS ... she would be my ideal woman if I were looking for a role model <g>, not only has she created this fantastic system that she freely shares with all of us, but she also makes all these patterns with photo illustrations, AND has a thriving quilting business! Just a very capable woman, to say the least! <g> |
