Lovely lovely laughs!
Ladies, thanks for all the joking! and fun
We were supposed to have a tropical storm. Don...and it didn't rain enough here to fill up a soft drink bottlecap size rain guage!
....so even mother nature does not always "start" either!

Here we are in Oklahoma hoping you all would get drenched and then send the left overs up her to us. It is just too hot and dry. Miserable!!!!

You've already started by joining the board. Welcome. Now you need to get a pattern and some fabric and jump right in. There are plenty here who are willing to help with amy questions you have on this journey. Soon you will be the one answering the questions.

I don't think you would like 37+ days over 101-110 actual temp and no rain...

GV09 07-30-2011 07:25 PM

Although you may not believe it ... live in the same place!
This summer for several days we arrived at 45 ° C = 113 ° F .... It never rains .... and over: WIND much!
Imagine!
Hahahaha!
This winter are between -10 ° C = 14 ° F and days of 12 ° C = 53.6 ° F! But it never snows!
Our daily temperature range is very wide!
Thank you for this chat!
A hug!

I say just go for it. Once you just try something simple, you will see how fun it is. Just remember, it is okay to make mistakes. That is what keeps my mother from trying. However, they developed tools for all of us quilters to rip out our mistakes. You can do it!

Watch every video about quilting that you can find on youTube.

Step 1... find a SIMPLE quilt pattern ... a 9 patch is a very good place to begin. Most beginners needs to start with a 12 inch block
Step 2... decide if you want a "scrappy" - many colors or a "planned" - only certain colors
Step 3... decide on what colors you want in your quilt....
Step 4... Accurately cut out your squares...
Step 5... sew these squares together using 1/4 inch seam allowance.
Step 6 ... post pictures to this board so we can ooo and ahhh over your beautiful creation.

Hey I thought this was a 12 step program!

It's 12 if you do all of them wrong the first time :)

ROFLOL Its the 3rd time around for my Snails Trail-AKA Tipsy Snails now

I'm sure morningstar will have some idea where to start with all the great suggestions given here.
