Where do you buy thread online?
I need a variegated thread and can't find any locally. I can make a trip to a city or buy online so I thought I'd look online first.
I heard of Red Rock Threads on this forum, and just recently tried them and was very pleased with the service. If I remember right, shipping was $5 or under no matter how much you ordered.
I buy thread on-line from Connecting Threads and Thread Art.com. I buy cotton quilting thread on Connecting Threads and they do carry variegated thread. I buy my polyester embroidery thread from Thread Art.com. I haven't had any problems with either of these on line sellers or the thread.

I but Gutermann natural cotton thread in the 3.281 yard cones. The best place I find online for them is www.quilting-warehouse.com.

I have most of their Colour Cards (real thread) and order whenever there's a sale. I buy cones. I love their thread: usually Masterpiece or Rainbows or King Tut on top and Bottom Line in the bobbin. I also have a rainbow of colours from CC: I use Bottom Line in the bobbin with the CC spool/cone on top. |
I use to buy my Mettler thread from JAF online but last Thanksgiving, they had so few colors it looks like they are discontinuing selling this thread.
I have bought Aurifil thread from Pumpkin Vine Corner and been happy with her service.

I buy my Essentials piecing thread from Connecting Threads, some embroidery thread from either Thread Art or Superior Thread which are both great companies to do business with. I like fast service, quality for the money & getting what I've ordered with each order!
http://www.threadbearfabrics.com/mod...ng+tut&x=0&y=0 I love Fabric.com but they don't rush shipments out. I have gotten some very nice thread from Amazon and they ship quick. Last week I was looking for some variegate thread and knew what I wanted. King Tut I googled and I found a great place. Their price was good. Shipping was only $2 and I got the package in 2 days!! I was very pleased!!!
I will be buying from them again |
I love all of these links to new places to shop!!!!!
I buy Aurifil from Hawthorne Threads. They have low shipping, are speedy, their prices are competitive and they stock all the colors in all the weights. I buy Superior Thread brands from their website, and Presencia from theirs.

I buy regular thread from Connecting Threads. For the longarm, I use King Tut, and I get that at Red Rock Threads or Quiltin4Fun.com
Thanks everyone. I'll try some of these.
Check out Superior Thread.
www.sewthankful.com is my pick...
I love King Tut varigated threads, and for several years I have ordered from sewthankful. They are a Mom and Pop shop in New Mexico with very personal service; they carry the full line of Superior Threads at very competitive prices, and their shipping is free on orders over $50. Since I'm ordering from outside NM, there is no sales tax either!
For years I dealt with Atlantic Threads. They were sold to Wawak
wawak.com I have mostly bought threads that I do not use for quilting since I like Mettler silk finish cotton but I buy a great deal of other products including threads from them. They are an excellent place to deal with. |

Connecting Thread, Superior Thread and Waywak...My three to go places for thread and other supplies.
I have used the thread from CT also. It is a bit lintier than some, but if you are diligent about cleaning the bobbin area after you use it, can't beat the price.......
I buy my cotton quilting thread(piecing) at Connecting Threads, although it's a little linty, you can't beat the price, I just clean out my bobbin area whenever I finish the bobbin. For FMQ, I use http://www.metroemb.com/store/, I get the 5000 meter spools, for a fabulous price, beautiful colors and great customer service.

Nancy Notions has Medera in varigated

I primarily buy my thread from Connecting Threads. Have had the best experience with their thread and I have just about every color. Also have used superior thread and they are great also.
