Where do you buy your fabrics online? Also please post the links to the sites, thanks!

I started this thread as another member (Lynn Luker) posted this ? below
I have a question for those of you who shop on line. I have been afraid of it...I like to feel the fabrics and hold them up together to see what goes with what. I admit, I'm not very proficient in choosing fabric yet. But when I see pictures in some of the ads that come (Connecting Threads) And hear about the great prices, I am tempted. How do you choose? Should I buy several pieces from one line that are made to go together, start with a kit...or...? (sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this question, I don't know how to start a topic!)If this needs to be moved somewhere else, please do so, or tell me how. You all have been so great to get ideas from, THANKS! |
I buy on ebay sometimes but I usally have seen what I am looking for at a store and didn't have the money right then, or I have seen it in a book and hope to find it a bit cheaper. I would buy from Handcocks of Paducah online, I just haven't yet.

Your best bet is to go with a site that others have recommended and used. Connecting Threads is certainly talked about on this Board; I"ve never heard of a bad review. Personally, I love Keepsake Quilting (not the Keepsake fabric at Joann's - totally different!) and have ordered from them many times. Try using the Search feature at the top of this page to look for more sites.... try "shopping" or some such.

I shop at Fabric Depot on-line and at their store in Portland, OR. They have a huge selection and from what I can tell try to keep pricing reasonable. They offer 40% coupons each week through their monthly flyer. On-line is 35% off.
