I do what Jeanne does and I DO SPEND TOO MUCH TIME searching Google images for ideas. I have EQ7 so figuring out a pattern is no problem. I do like simple patterns like Warm Wishes which I have tweak the basic pattern.

I can often duplicate a quilt from a picture I see on the web, or a magazine. Buying the pattern or book, however, often has the advantage of giving you cutting and/or construction shortcuts or clever new-to-me techniques. I do both.

I see quilts just about everywhere. I have gotten ideas here on the board, looked at pictures online, and even created my own. One that I'm quite proud of is the "Pipe Dream" where I had the little pipes going all over the place against a light grey background. Thinking about doing another. Then there is "Theodore J. Sportsman", a bear in a canoe, with a hat and a fishing pole. I have even considered my kitchen floor.
