Can someone point me in the right direction please.

I need to redo a few blocks of an old quilt that I think was flour sacks.

I wouldn't know a 1930 and 1940 fabric from a hole in the ground and need some help.

Thanks!

And most of those fabrics are 35-36 inch. Sometimes you can buy scraps that would work. Sometimes it is hard to date those fabrics for a specific year.

A great place for any era repro fabric is at www.fabricattic.com

Yes, Fabric Attic is great (hot link http://www.fabricattic.com/newpage12...FQ_xDAodBh84rQ) as trupeach said. Another great place is Reproduction Fabrics http://www.reproductionfabrics.com/shelf.php?ID=7. There are lots of places for repros, just google what era you want. It's the original stuff that is hard to find.

ebay probably be your best best
I found a good deal on a fat eighths bundle at eBay. For me it worked out better than shopping around for the yardage and I got a better variety.

:D Thank you!!

Should I try to get the same print fabric or just choose another print?

On some of them I only need to replace 1 or 2 petals.

It would probably be pretty difficult to get the same print. But I'd try to match it as closely as possible in color, value and style.

Your quilt blocks look like feedsack fabric. The plaid looks just like one of the feed sacks I first used.

Do you know where I can find any?

Hi!
I'm so into 30s it's frightening. OK, to replace vintage with vintage, check out ebay's search engine with feedsack fabric.

If you're looking to gather more fabric that is similar but a tighter weave, considered quilter's cottons reproductions are wonderful and less expensive (usually). I just found a new to me spot for repros online at http://www.ericas.com/fabric/oldfash.htm and have purchased from their staff at quilt shows. I plan to road trip to the store soon. THEY ARE WONDERFUL!
RETRO :D

Check ebay for feed sacks. Also some of the 30's look like feed sacks. I bought feed sacks repo at Joann's a couple of years ago.

www.fatquartershop.com. Plenty of FQ's. I am working on a 30's project and this has the best selection http://www.fatquarterworld.com/quilt..._id=3139&tion.

I have a large stash of vintage fabric. If you let me know which pieces in the quilt your looking to repair and how much of each I will be happy to just send it to you.

Thank you everyone, I already found some one who is going to help me.
