I have found fabric at Bear Paws that I couldn't fine anywhere else so definitely try there. I also like Fabric.com for their selection, prices and service.

Have you tried googling what you want as well. When I am looking for a specific type that's where I start.

There's Thousands of Bolts, Whittles, Marshall's Dry Goods, these all have great prices and great customer service.

I needed a good variety of novelties for a going away quilt and was able to get everything at www.equilter.com. I never dreamed there were so many things on fabric!

I too use quiltshops.com when I am looking for something in particular.

I like quiltshops.com, put in novelty for the search and it will give you a pic and the quilt shop name.

My Hobby Lobby has a pretty good selection of novelty fabrics, especially kid fabrics.

I agree with everyone for the fabric searches, and the on line options. If you are looking for something similar to the fabrics that are in the quilts in the patterns you were looking at, then you can get them anywhere. If you want to get the fabric now, and not wait for shipping, then your local Joann's in Lima should have lots to choose from. I think Novelty refers to anything that is cute with things on it. Tractors, birds, owls, fish, toys, umbrellas and the like. I love the quilts you found. If you shop Joann on line, you can use the coupons where possible, and most times, you get a little more yardage than ordered at no extra charge. Another outlet is Etsy. I had to find some Disney fabric with Donald and Daisy Duck on it, and found it on Etsy, from Japan, but got it in a few weeks. You are going to find so many. Please post some pictures once they are done. I'm sure we would all love to see what you chose.

I used Gingham check fabric and muslin in a Baby Quilt I made over 34 yrs ago for a Friend's first Baby and that little quilt ( just tied) lasted through all 4 kids...... So use what you like...make it with Love..
