I want to make 2 fleece and flannel raggy quilts. I'd like to find pre-cut squares. Anyone have suggestions where to go online or in stores to find them? Thnaks

never saw pre cut fleece. missouri star quilt has pre cut flannels and I'm sure other sites carry them as well. fleece is so forgiving I think it would be easy nuff to cut tho. good luck

Just remember the fleece will not be "raggy" when its washed like the flannel will. Not sure if you mean you are mixing fleece and flannel in the same quilt or not, so I just wanted to mention they wont act the same. (Unless you mean you are going to use the fleece as batting and if thats the case you are good to go). Hope you find your pre-cuts, I cant offer any help on that front.

It won't fray like flannel but it will make a wonderful rag quilt to snuggle up with. I used fleece in a single layer and snip the edges just like the flannel. It works fine just not frayed!
Did you check ebay? |
Awhile back, JoAnn's had kits with precut & fringed fleece blocks. Don't know if they still do, though.

Thanks for the help ladies.

You are actually better off using batting instead of fleece in a rag quilt. The easiest batting to cut is the batting used in the Cotton Theory techinque. If you go on line and google, Cotton Theory, the information will come up. It's only 18 inches wide and is rolled for easy cutting.....love it for rag quilts. Remember to cut your batting smaller than your flannel!

Found a website that sells the Cotton Theory batting....it's Nancy's Notions.....

I love making rag quilts using fleece. I only use one layer so it's not too heavy, and I make my squares BIG. I don't think you can find precut fleece squares. I use an 8x8 or an 8x12 ruler to cut my squares.
This is my most recent fleece rag quilt. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-142477-1.htm |
