I want to make sure I get the right stuff-does anyone have a link? I do not have a joann's or any other sewing shop near me so my only option is online, and I would rather get whatever is supposed to be the best for the featherweight. thanks :)

you should be able to find sewing machine oil at most shops- on line or locally.
does not have to say singer on it- just has to be sewing machine oil. clotilde's, nancy's notions, fons & porter, keepsake quilting, hobby lobby, joannes, michaels---most any of the on line shops will carry it. if you have a lqs they probably carry one too |
Regular sewing machine oil and a non silicone lubing grease, which is about $6 in a hardware store. You do not need specialized "singer" name products. Why pay postage for something so handy.

I took my fratherweight in to shop for a tuneup I was told not to use lube because it gummed up the machine. which is right. I was told to use sewing machine oil.

Featherweights take both oil and sewing machine lubricant. They dont' go in the same places tho and that is why you need a manual. Any Singer dealer will have what you need. If you cannot find it, PM me and I will find some for you.

Check out sew-classic.com. Lots of great information and parts for old machines, including the grease and oil.
