Where are the quilted ornament ideas????

I wish I could find some ideas for quilted ornaments. After almost two hours of internet searching I can't find any ideas to get my creative juices flowing for a quilted ornament. Most of the ornament ideas from quilters involve a styrofoam ball. Don't get me wrong some of these are beautiful. But with all the wonderfully creative quilters out there, I'm surprised there aren't more of them showing off their talents as quilters. Where are the ornaments involving a sewing machine? Maybe with some added handwork? I guess I could do the old standby cookie cutter ornaments. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I have an ornament exchange next month and would love to quilt something.

Take any quilt block ... and miniaturize it!
Make it like you would a pot holder.
Sew in a ribbon loop, for your hanger.

Try looking for sewing for Christmas. Snowflakes are easy cut ot front and back stiffening which you can sew through and zigzag all round. Same method but paper piece Santa, tree etc.

One year I made ginger bread boys out of brown polka dot fabric. I drew the pattern (freehand) out , put white rickrack the smallest size, around the edge of them and they turned out great. Actually i gave everyone in the family one.

Last year DH came home from a work related Xmas dinner with a little stocking (about 4 inches tall) made from old blue jeans. There is red plaid fabric around the top and a little hanging loop. It has Ho Ho Ho embroidered on it in red. I am thinking I will make some of those this year to give some teacher friends at school.

Cute!
They could easily be made big enough to hold a gift card
... or to tuck in other small gifts.
...... or candy, chocolate, etc.

I have a pattern for a Santa Ornament, really cute. Its a pattern we used in a small projects class I taught. Really easy and cute, button eyes and a little jingle bell on the pointy end of his hat. Send me a PM if your interested.

You will have to look for used patterns. Vogue had some, so did Simplicity and McCalls in the 80s and 90s. I also have a set of all animals (sewn and stuffed, maybe 2 - 5 inches long) that I bought years ago. I also have angels and smocked ornaments. I had a goose themed tree from the animal set.

Everyone wants to work with wool, felt or fleece which don't seem to need to be finished. I don't like any.
