I have just finished a pieced top for my sister and now want to stipple quilt it. Where do I start? Outside edge, middle, side, top, bottom? I tried one once before and ended up with puckers before finishing. Where do I start on a regular machine.

Start in the middle and work outwards, north, south east then west if you're doing an allover. And keep everything flat and smoothed as you go. Having said that, I sometimes start at an edge on a smaller piece then I don't have thread ends to bury!

I usually start in the middle and work my way out the sides.

I start in the middle and work my way out. I do use basting spray but still pin or baste the edges. That is where I am most likely to get puckers.

Thank you! It is snowing today. We have a prediction of 10 - 16 inches. I plan to start stippling! I'll begin in the middle.
