White or Cream background fabric

It seems I remember a thread (or perhaps it was just a post in another thread) about good fabric to use for white or cream background fabric. Can't find it. I don't care for the tone on tone whites. (I've not found a design I liked very much.) I want a substantial weight white or cream fabric that the seams won't show through. I don't care to use muslin. Any ideas?

I would use Kona Snow. It's not a stark white, but it's really not a cream. It has a good weight to it, I think.

I also like the Robert Kaufman Kona cottons. They offer several options in whites to creams:

I used the Kona Cream color recently and loved it....nice weight. But be sure you get Kaufman brand.
