If you could pick just one or two groups of blenders that you always turn to, which would they be? It seems that every maker has their own groups, and all are nice, and a little different from everybody else's.
What do you like best? Is it: Moda's Marbles, or dots, or swirls or stars? Blank Quilting's Bali rain, or Splash? South Sea's Complements dots, vine, or leafy scroll? Wilmington's Essential dots or scroll? Timeless Treasures's Marble Mania? Kaufman's Marbelous, or Fusions? Or something else? Or just whatever catches your eye on a given day? If you do have a favorite group, what is it about that particular collection that makes you like it best? |
I think for me it is the mood, the day and the other fabrics I've chosen. I do like the Timeless Treasures alot though.
|
Now you've got me curious to see all these. Any links?

My all time favorites so far are the Kaufman Fusions. I have 3 styles in a bunch of colors. I use it in almost every quilt I make. The colors blend so well with others. I love them!!!!
|
Impossible for me to pick one or two! LOL I like them all, but as for what I like most:
#1 fusions #2 essential scrolls #3 Marbleous And it all depends on what else is in the quilt. I must admit, I head for the fusions first and work down from there. |
The fusions and then the Marble Mania :-)
Hugs April |
I love Shadowplay by Maywood Studios.
|
I wish I could have moda Marbles in every color.
|
I love most all blenders, but it really depends on what other fabrics I am using, as to which one I would pick to go with them. Some blenders are more vibrant, others more muted... Sometimes I want a blender without a defined design in them, other times a blender like the Fusions line with the viney leaves really add to the look I am going for. There are some of the batiks that aren't stamped that really call to me also.....

can we see pics?[/quote] I'll try to post pictures later today... maybe 3 of each group, so you can get a better idea. |
Moda Marbles. I love the bright colors.

Ok, here are some pictures of blenders that Blank Quilting makes.
No particular rhyme or reason to which pictures I'm posting, just choosing three that will hopefully look nice next to each other on the page! First: Bali Rain. |

Next: Splash, also by Blank Quilting.
I know a lot of people don't care for peach... but these remind me of sherbet and now my sweet tooth is acting up! |

Honeystone Hill, a newer group by Blank that is metallic.
|

These are by South Sea Imports. They call their basic groups "complements" and these are "climbing vine", "dots and spots" and "leafy scroll" respectively.
|
I love to use the leafy scroll one as well. I have it in a few (maybe a dozen) different colors.
Ok, correction I have the above in the Essentials scroll and a few of the sparkle |

The next three are by Wilmington Prints. These are called "Essentials": scroll, petite dots, and sparkle.

Timeless Treasures does Marble Mania. This group, plus Moda's Marbles, are by Patrick Lose. The scale of Marble Mania is bigger... so it gives a different effect than Moda Marbles.

Confused yet?
Maywood Studio does Shadow Play and Simpatico: |

Can't leave out Robert Kaufman.
Fusions pattern 4070, 5573, and 6644. Add them all up and there must be as many of these (collectively) as Moda has colors of marbles. |

And Kaufman's Imperial Fusions (metallic) plus Marbleous.
All basic blenders. And that doesn't even count all the batiks in the world... plus surely I've skipped a couple of brands too. Oh well. Now you've seen 'em all... which group do you usually turn to when you want a basic blender? |
I vote for Moda Marbles. They go with anything!!!
|
Moda Marbles definitely does come in the most colors (over 250 at last count, I think)... and I have their swatch card; it's my favorite toy.
But even so, sometimes there is a color I'm looking for that they just don't make. |
I love the bright snappy red and the deep brown. But in all honesty, I use batiks more than blenders. I love the blends of colors and the feel of the fabric.
