Who has tried the Layered Patchwork by Kansas Trouble Quilters

I am looking at some of the beautiful scrappy quilts using this method. I'd like to know the pros and cons from anyone who has made a quilt using this method.

I'm not sure I would like the raw edges?

One of the quilts is pictured on the Oct. 2014 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting. I really love it.

thanks for any input

I like raw edges. Gives a nice soft feel.

Following this thread. I'm hoping to make this quilt, too!

I'm interested in hearing what other people have to say about this. A friend who collects charity quilts got some quilts that had raw edge applique, and she said even after washing strings/threads kept coming off. I didn't see the quilts in question but wondered how much of a problem that might be.

Does anyone have close up pictures of what this quilt looks like? The method intrigues me and am just curious what it looks like. Also love the pattern on the cover of the October issue of American Patchwork & Quilting.

It struck me as being a very expensive way to quilt. Instead of piecing, she adds fabric on top of fabric, and/or stitches a piece down to look like applique. She uses a lot of pre cuts. She makes pretty quilts, but I don't have her budget, so I will continue to cut, and piece the old fashion way.
