I have been adopted by pocoellie. Thank you!

Hey, I've been adopted by ReRe!. Oh boy, I'm excited. Now, mom, you do realize that I may be a challenge for you, right?
This is cool. thanks, ReRe |
Another question Donna - I am machine quilting this with the walking foot. I noticed that at times my stitch length varied. Then I noticed that it was like the quilt was catching on something. At first I thought it was something on the top, but then I discovered it was the threads from the bobbin on the underside. I cut the threads on the top when I move from block to block, but not on the bottom. I took the quilt out and turned it over now and trimmed all the threads before I go back to quilting. There's no wrinkles, but what should I be doing to resolve the other problem?

i've given this a lot of thought and here is what i came up with:
why can't a question be asked on an open-to-all post? when someone asks a quilting question and gets the usual 400 answers, we all learn something. by asking very specific questions of only one person, we all miss interesting and often important information. sometimes that question and answer is better shared. who will know what to share and what seems unimportant? if nothing seems important, well, then, ........... on the other hand if everything seems worthy of being shared, than it should have been asked openly in the first place. i don't think it's necessary to be adopted to get advice. no one here knows everything. every question should be thrown out for answers reflecting different viewpoints. (for example: pre-washing fabric  . only one opinion? puh-leeeze!) |
Some feel fullish asking a question and if they know they can ask one person then they don't feel over wham with everyone.
I like to wash my fabric before hand, then I use it accordingly. Same as starch or not to starch. Cookie |
Butterflywing, I think what you are stating is valid. For those of you who are or have buddies, take stock in this. Your buddy is there to talk to about quilting in general or whatever else you may choose to talk about. Lets not forget what we do best here - talk with the goup as a whole and get lots of opinions. What I am trying to say is that you should not neglect to answer questions or share on the QB first and take it from there. You must decide for yourself which way to go but don't forget all the rest of us who are what makes this board so great. Let us all hear from you about your experiences, good and bad. Show us your work so that we can all drool over it and share your ideas. I hope that you will all not take each other for granted and we may all continue to learn from each other as a group. This Board is the best. Let's strive to keep it that way. Love you all, Donna
