Patrice, I'm glad you cleared that up, it irritates me to no end when people say oh you make blankets? It's the same when I make homemade yeast rolls and they call them biscuits. LOL

My favorite would be the old quilt patterns. I love the names they were given. There is no end to the squares and triangle designs, and the colors and patterns are endless. I have only been quilting a year ,so, I don't know what I'll like next year; but For now I say all the ancestor grandmothers are my favorite designers.

I agree with Ruth. If it weren't for all of our quilting ancestors, we would not have this terrific hobby, or in my case, a passion, today. I love traditional patterns and fabrics. I want to get the hang of watercolor quilting and other delights, but, alas, I am stuck in the past.

Suz,
I will take you up on your offer to check in with you when I get rolling on the Grandma II quilt, I am definitely working on the crazy quilt this year and I just got this pattern as I said last week, I am extremely anxious to do it, so maybe working on two different quilts this year instead of just one....tell me more about the tree of life one, I am interested....

Not a single ruffled feather anywhere. I was actually checking the dictionaries to make sure I had the definition correct in my own mind. I was just too lazy to summarize and retype, so I copied it from the definition page and pasted it into my post.
You're much too nice to ever ruffle my feathers.

Janie,

I will have to check back issues of McCall's to find the "tree of life" one. I cannot do it until after the end of the month. I will be going to Philly on Friday to stay with my daughter for about 10 days. Her husband died recently and is having a difficult time but will look it up once I return. And I will also attempt to take a digital photo and post same.

As for the pattern for the tree of life, It is just and "I Want" and can wait till it is conveinent for you. As I spend more time here, I know there will be more things that come up that I have to share, just don't know what they are yet. Safe traveling to you and God speed. Janie

I don't really have a favorite pattern designer but I do like some of Robyn Pandolph patterns. I love her fabric. Also I would love to find a discontinued pattern of Robyn Pandolph, it is called Bible Stories. I have found several patterns of bible stories but I can't find the one from Robyn Pandolph. It is descontinued so I guess I will have to get it from someone who will share it with me. I have talked to the designer and she has no idea where I can find a copy. If someone can help it would be greatly appreaciated. Please help me, I love that pattern.

I guess I don't really have a favorite designer. I always like the last one I've been introduced to best. and then I meet another I like even better!

I will say that I always come back to the traditional quilts. They have to be my very, very favoritest! (is that a word?) :-) After all they have withstood the test of time, haven't they?

To find used and out-of-print books, I always go to Amazon.com. You can type in the author's name and then all of the books by this author will appear. Amazon will be selling some, but they also list a lot of other shops who will have it.

Good luck. Suz
