wholesale suppliers
Does anyone know of a wholesale supplier that I can purchase quilting/sewing notions? thank you

The shops that I frequent usually use Checkers. I'd check with some of the shops near you.

I'm not sure what you're looking for. Here's one that doesn't have any minimum order (very important for small business owners): http://jhittlesewing.com/index.php
United Notions is a really great option. They have a $2K minimum: http://storefront.unitednotions.com/...age=zWholesale They are great because they have so many different brands of threads, fabrics, notions, books, etc. |
You need to go right to the manufacturer. Using a distributor will add cost as they buy from the manufacturer and sell it to shops. Are you subscribed to the quilt trade magazines? (not quilt pattern magazines).

The best way to meet everyone who sells is to go to Quilt Market. One show is always in Houston in the fall but the Spring show is now traveling from what I understand. Everyone who is anyone in the business goes to that show. I use to buy my notions from Quilter's Resources but they were bought over by another company. Most fabric you will find sell their own fabrics to shops. Some companies such as Hoffman use to have a 5 bolt minimum purchase per season.

Are you a legitimate business with a State retail/resale license? (Sales Tax I D) that is the criteria for purchasing "wholesale". You have to collect sales tax when retailing product.
