I have a tablerunner that I just finished up today. After I put it in the washer and the dryer, there is one section that looks crooked. What did I do and how do I fix it?

It may be the way the fabric or batting shrank. You may try blocking it. I don't block, but someone will be able to explain how to do it.

I don't know what blocking is either.

This is a video Alex Anderson did on tips for blocking. Pretty much she stretches out the quilt by getting it wet (like reeeally wet!) and pinning it to the floor and squaring it up. You let it air dry while it's pinned to the floor and when it's dry, your quilt is square!

Did you wash everything before cutting it?

(Only exceptions: some battings. But if you didn't wash the batting, it should have shrunk evenly)

I LOVE the search and use it quite often, but sometimes it is easier to ask the question. Thank you for the info.

Possibly one of the fabrics shrank more than the others. Or one of the fabrics wasn't cut exactly on the straight of grain? Maybe you could get it wet and stretch it back into shape.

Thanks for asking. I know about blocking, but didn't think you could do that after everything was done and put together. I thought it was just to square up blocks when piecing. Isn't this board great!!!
