After my last project, I put a new blade in my rotary cutter. I usually hold it together as I put in the new blade but this time dropped everything.
I just started a new project and the blade wasn't cutting very well. I finally decided to suck it up and put in a new blade. Just for kicks, I took out another cutter. I then realized that when I'd picked up the pieces, I'd put the large knob and it's washer and nut on backwards. Duh! |
I've done that before! Worst yet, I took it all apart, and thought I put the new blade in, but instead put the OLD blade back in. . . . Please don't tell my hubby!!

Been there done that what a mess. My DD got me one of the easy to change for Christmas it works a lot better.

Boy howdy I think we do that atleast once! Only problem I had was it took me a week to figure out what was wrong.

I once put two blades in together. Really shredded some fabric before I figured it out.

I can beat that!!! When I bought the rotary cutter or after the first time I changed the blade (not sure when) my cutter got put together wrong. I couldn't figure out why the rulers seemed too high -- bought 2 new rulers, till I figured out the cutter was set up for a left handed person, not a righty!!!!!!!! Yeah, it DOES make a difference!

I have a dumb rotary blade story too. I changed the blade, put it back together right...but....I tightened it way too much and the blade wouldn't turn. I know, you would think I would have easily figured that out. No not me, I changed several blades, thinking I had a bad package of blades!!! I even bought a new cutting mat (that was needed anyway) thinking it was ruining my blades. Soooo...don't tighten your screw too tight, that is my dumb experience!

I bought one of the fast change rotary cutters. It's definitely worth it! Nothing to mess up.
