Why not make it into a whole cloth quilt?

I'm trying to reduce my stash and stay away from fabric. I would like to eventually get to where I have little or no stash. Its hard to do. My success rate is not so good. Purchased 4 fat quarter bundles a couple of weeks ago, and bought scraps from a board member. I've started by using the fabrics that were bought as a set from the same line. I found a pattern I would like to make with them and folded it in with the fabric. When time permits I grab the one on top and start cutting. I'm allowing myself to buy only backings if needed, but for the most part I'll make scrappy backs. I too have fabrics that I just hate to cut. NO MORE! Its gotta go, they wont find me on the Hoarders show.

I like working from my stash, so am glad I have it. Once a month, I try to limit myself to that with DH retired, & honestly, I have plenty of stash, I usually find a few more fqs to add to it. But it really does help having a good stash to work from. When money is tight, it's a big help too, you always have some projects waiting, or possibilities for them, so that works out nice too! I don't usually have to buy anything, in order to quilt...

I LOVE my stash, I not only quilt but also sew the costumes for my kids each year for Halloween. My stash has saved my but a time or too in those situations.

But I love my stash just for the possibilities it represents, and the endless creativity I gain from it! Can't say I'm one of those who has ever found a fabric too pretty to cut though!
