ProLongarmARTQUILTER 11-30-2009 08:52 PM

The new color bothers my eyes , I see it much plainer and like it Black n white, Is this the color or is it temporary??? I Hope!!!

Elisabrat 11-30-2009 09:18 PM

I have bad eyes.. yellow is ok with me... its the darker colors with light print that get me every time. Relative: my bad eyes require glass's for reading not for anything else so maybe this is different for other disorders?

sharon b 11-30-2009 09:20 PM

I agree this is hard on my eyes

Pickles 11-30-2009 09:24 PM

I agree I liked the color it was before , I'm also going blind and this isn't the best color for me either

littlehud 11-30-2009 09:49 PM

I'm not crazy about this color either. I do like the text better though.

Pinkrose4664 11-30-2009 09:54 PM

I don't care for the new format. It was easier to skim through the topics the old way. Oh well.

CindyBee 12-01-2009 01:00 AM

I like the new features, but I do wish they hadn't changed the color. It won't keep me from the QB, but I liked the black and white better.

patricej 12-01-2009 02:03 AM

Admin has tried several color combinations for the new version of the board. He got both "we love it" supportive comments and screaming criticism about every attempt.

we are impossible to please.

over time, he'll keep tinkering in search of features and looks that appeal to the most members possible.

in the meantime, let's appreciate his hard work on our behalf; offer constructive group-oriented input; and enjoy this wonderful FREE board.

Up North 12-01-2009 04:13 AM

I like everything about the change so far except this yellow color it blurs the words for me. I spend literally hours a day looking at things on here. Everything I have learned about quilting had come from this site. I am so glad I found it and have been very happy with it.

MollieSue 12-01-2009 04:37 AM

I must be the oddball - I like the yellow background! lol!! It's not so glaring to me, more soothing to look at.

momquilts 12-01-2009 04:42 AM

Maybe a softer hue of this color? This has been interesting seeing what new changes have occurred-I like Change!

STAR 12-01-2009 05:00 AM

I also like the yellow, I thought the white was too bright but whatever admin. decides on is good for me. I will not stay away!!

Knot Sew 12-01-2009 05:09 AM

And "I never noticed " Until I read this I didn't notice....I Don't take well to change....but I save it for the "big stuff"...I do know this color is supposed to be restful for the eyes.....I think this is better, but will take getting used to

Mamaskeeto 12-01-2009 05:10 AM

I'm okay with the yellow and but I wear glasses to read.

marsye 12-01-2009 05:13 AM

Its not bad.....at least its not white letters on black. :hunf:

Elisabrat 12-01-2009 05:17 AM

the larger print is a HUGE bonus and thank you to whoever is responsible for not only setting up the updates but for keeping this board a float. It is SO appreciated. I get up, I check my email then I go straight here before I even read the news. I love it here.

Shemjo 12-01-2009 05:19 AM

I can read this ok. There are changes everywhere and this is one I can live with just fine. Thank you Admin for all you do. I, too, spend way more time here than is practical!

Barb_MO 12-01-2009 05:26 AM

I like the yellow. The thing that bothers me is the white background in the quote box....it really glares in the middle of the yellow. I think shaded yellow like behind the avatar would set it off well enough to recognize it as a quote.

pocoellie 12-01-2009 05:28 AM

I really preferred the old format, but I can learn to live with this, but I agree that this yellow color is very hard to "live with". I don't think I can spend a lot of time on board with this color.

reneebobby 12-01-2009 06:01 AM

I like this color on my machine it's beige. Very easy to read and not so glaring.

Olivia's Grammy 12-01-2009 06:18 AM

Don't like the yellow. I thought the white was easier to read.

CajunQuilter2 12-01-2009 06:50 AM

OK I must be the odd one out, I do not see any yellow??!! Mine is a soft grey background. Am I missing something?

reneebobby 12-01-2009 06:55 AM

It sounds like everyones computer is different. There is a way to change colors on your machine I wonder if it's that. Like I said I'm beige and loving it.

MollieSue 12-01-2009 06:55 AM

Maybe a difference in monitors? Mine is showing a soft yellow, which I really like. :)

sewfunquilts 12-01-2009 06:57 AM

Since I'm new here, I didn't know about the other colors. I like this one, it's easy on my eyes. :-D

Hey..that's why there's so many different fabrics for our quilting, so it pleases all of us quilters. ;-)

I've got to stay off of here today, 'cause I've got a couple custom orders I've got to finish up today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

BellaBoo 12-01-2009 08:05 AM

I like the muted color. The starkness of the white with the bigger text was jarring to me. One thing I have noticed, the design of a forum will make or break it. There are many I do not go to because of the bad layout. This is one of the better forums for easy to navigate. Thanks forum owner!

liblueeyes 12-01-2009 09:01 AM

OK now I am losing it ......mine doesn't show " yellow at all" I have gray under the avatars and a silvery white as background for the posts....

I agree with you. Much more difficult for me to read than the last color scheme. Though it does get me off this site and working on projects, so it's a good thing for me, lol

BellaBoo 12-01-2009 09:16 AM

My monitor tilt has a lot to do with the color!

Barb_MO 12-01-2009 09:29 AM

I have my display mode to true color. For some of you who don't like the glaring yellor, try changing if your display mode is set for high color. You can do this by right clicking on the desktop, the select display mode.

It must have something to with monitor or something, mine is not a glaring yellow, its a very sutle smooth mellow yellow, and I don't even like the color yellow but this color relaxes my eyes. They dont' feel nearly as tired, and I look at a computer screen all day long. It seems no matter what the color it depends on the monitor, settings, etc. that you have, maybe?

Lostn51 12-01-2009 05:14 PM

I like the color and it is really easy on the eyes! But every monitors color will be different for everyone. I have the high end video cards and the very high end monitors on my computers and the colors are always very vivid. This color is the most relaxing color to look at and my eyes do not get so fatigued.

I like the new color, the white hurt my eyes LOL

Helen H 12-03-2009 07:31 AM

I like the new color as well. It almost looks like beige to me, not glaring at all. Maybe all our computers are configured differently! We seem to be seeing different effects.

i agree with Okie, mine is a mellow yellow and i like it! maybe it is something in Oklahoma?

Deb watkins 12-03-2009 08:28 AM

The new forum works well for me. I know there is a member listing, was wondering if there is some way to put the user names in alpha? Or is it there and I am just not seeing it? With all of our members, sometimes I have a hard time finding the specific person I am looking for.

Mollie, you are not alone. I like the cream color. I wonder if it could be the individual computer screens. Like television, not everything is set the same.
With our numbers reaching close to 10,000 it will be hard to have something to please everybody, but like someone else said, this is a terrific group, and there is so much to share.
