Wickedly Easy Quilt Pattern Questions

Those of you who have made the Wickedly Easy Quilt I have a question. Pattern calls for 30 fat qts to make a Queen quilt. So do you select a color and then use 30 different fat qtrs. in that particular color (say green)? Has anyone made it using all different fat qtrs. (i.e. scrappy)? Does anyone have any other tips for making this quilt? Thanks https://www.byannie.com/media/images...s_patterns.pdf

I haven't made it, but what a fun quilt.
Are you looking at making a monochromatic quilt? Then yes you would pick a colour and pick 30 fat quarters in that colour, being sure to vary the shade (light to dark) so there is visual interest.
Have fun with it, looks like a great pattern to use up stash!

Wow! That looks like a great pattern! I think you would want to pick a variety of fat quarters. Decide if you want one, two or three different colours to begin with, and then choose fat quarters within each colour, in different values--light, medium and dark.

I just happen to have about a dozen red, white and black figured fat quarters left over from a project (just try to find those colours when you really need them!) and I think they would look awesome in this pattern. Thanks for adding something else to my bucket list!!

I have made this quilt several times and have made it completely scrappy. It's a great one to use up scraps and looks good no matter what you put in it. I also used this one with some of our newest guild members learning to quilt as it was an easy block to stitch.

I think it would depend on what you wanted to end up with. A monochromatic quilt would require a variation of the same color. If you wanted two or three colors in it, then divide up the fat quarters into two or three color variations. If you were looking for drama, I'd go with a black and red, or a black and white. If you are interested in a scrappy quilt, you could use scraps, or many different colors and prints in your fat quarters. What a lovely quilt! Good luck to you!

For some variety pick a quadrant of the color wheel and use light, darks, and mediums . Throw in one color on the opposite side of the color wheel to give it its zing!

WOW thank you everyone. You've given me much food for thought. I knew I could count on all of you. Thanks again.
