Wide Backing
What do you do with left over wide backing fabric?
|
The same as any other extra fabric I have ..... add it to my stash, for another quilt project.
|
Same as QuiltE. Often the trimmings are used as binding. The wide backs I've been buying are the same good quality as the rest of my stash.

I will buy wide backing to use as yardage when it's on sale. I make extra long jelly roll strips.
|
It goes right along with any other fabric left over from making a quilt - into the stash.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/boy.gif

Consider it for binding. The long strips mean less joins.

Stash it! That there is useful fabric https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

If there are only scraps/strips of the backing fabric left I put it in my scrap bin for oversized pieces. If less, then they go into whatever bin is the closest to the smallest width. Either way it gets used up in another quilt. Even the cutoffs of batting if wide enough will get attached to other strips of leftover batting until it becomes large enough to be used in another project. Sometimes I'll use the leftover batting if large enough for embroidered quilt blocks. Also those really small pieces I use to clean my rails on my quilt frame using alcohol.

I use it however I can. I love wide backing. I buy good quality.
