I d like some different feet for my Singer tradition and i would like a cording foot,,even food/walking foot, ( or is that the foot that goes with the machine.

Many many types of 1/4 Inch feet are available. Piping foot, open toed foot, satin stitch, edge joining foot, cording foot, sequin foot,

I'm not familiar with the Singer Tradition; maybe someone else is. I clicked on one of the listings for the stitch-in-the-ditch foot and she listed all of the Singer machines it would fit. Instead of the Tradition name, look for a model # on your machine and see if it matches up with something on her list. Also, she has a close-up picture of the foot; see if the back of the foot looks like the back of the feet you have.

The feet you get depend on the specific needs you have. My Bernina has the "stitch-in-the-ditch" type foot and it does help me stay in the ditch; still, I'm imperfect enough with it that I don't like to do that kind of quilting if I can help it. The black piece in the middle rides "in the ditch" to help you stay where you want to be in the seam.

A walking foot is recommended if you want to do straight-line quilting that is not in the ditch or for gently waving quilting lines. It works on feeding the top fabric at the same rate as the backing fabric to prevent puckers and wrinkles. It is used when sewing on binding for the same reason. There are generic walking feet on the market that will fit a variety of machines. Some of them are good, some are very cheaply made and not so good. Try looking for one made especially for your brand and model of machine; they are often better quality than some of the generics.

A darning foot is often used for free-motion quilting. This foot "hops" between each stitch, allowing the user to move the quilt sandwich freely.

I bought most of my feet from ebay stores, I asked them if their feet would fit my specific machine. Just click on ask seller a question about their item(s). They all were very helpful, and I am happy with my purchases through them. The feet you want depend on what kind of sewing you intend on doing. I bought quite a few not only for quilting but for sewing embellishments on clothing and home dec, too.

i want feet that will make things easier and and that can help a beginner with my sewing and quilting, tht mainly it :)

i buy most of my machine stuff from Ken's and they are on ebay. really good service. you can ask him ahead of time if it will fit your machine. lots of buy-it-now and reasonable prices and shipping.

this site indicates that the Singer Tradition uses snap-on feet. so any that you see for 'snap-on' feet should work.

Is your Singer a slant version? My old Singer(1967) is a slant o matic, and my new one(2007) is not. I have some attachments for the old one, which I am willing to part with if they would work for you.

i know u can just take them off and kind of click em back on but i can check the machine number tomorrow as i only have the manual with me now.
