This pattern is called windmill by MSQ. Do you think these colors are ok, I love them together but they use a jelly roll of all different colors, I wanted to do all mine like this?? Thanks for your help.

Good to know, thanks!

Tartan 09-07-2017 05:25 AM

Great block! If all the other colours are bright like the greeny yellow, I think it will make a dramatic quilt top paired with the black.

Homespun 09-07-2017 07:19 AM

It will be spectacular this way!

catsden 09-07-2017 07:39 AM

I really like this. The colors look great together. Can't wait to see the finish.

Kitsie 09-07-2017 07:54 AM

Yes! I think I'd rather see your 2 colors than multi ones.

buddy'smom 09-07-2017 08:34 AM

Thanks everyone, yellow/black it is.

Barb in Louisiana 09-07-2017 09:18 AM

Yes, except they're Steelers colors. Ha!

bearisgray 09-07-2017 12:33 PM

I like it.

It does make me think of Halloween, but I think the colors/patterns are great together.

jcraine 09-07-2017 01:30 PM

Awesome colors!

Jingle 09-07-2017 02:03 PM

I think those colors are great together. They will make a beautiful quilt.

momsbusy 09-08-2017 04:50 AM

I really like your fabrics. I can hardly wait to see the secondary designs that will appear when you put the blocks together.

rryder 09-08-2017 05:12 AM

Wow! I think that will be stunning with those two colors!

When I saw this pattern on Jenny's site I kept thinking it reminded me of something. Then it finally hit me, the test pattern on TV back in the early 50's. I can still hear the high pitch beeping in my head.

buddy'smom 09-08-2017 06:45 AM

Thank you, my best friends first words were would great in Halloween fabric's.

I not only like your colors together; but, I also like the combination of yellow fabrics you used. I like the different scale in those fabrics. I will look forward to your next post about this quilt. Great so far.

tallchick 09-08-2017 07:03 AM

Wow, Yes yes yes!! I can't wait to see it all finished, it's going to be stunning!!

Well have gotten 7 blocks put together, showing 6, there not sewn together yet. As you can see my pinwheels are not perfect but I pined them and did the best I could.

Colors look great together and the blocks look super.

buddy'smom 09-08-2017 12:22 PM

Thank you.

Cindy B 09-08-2017 12:53 PM

yellow and black always go together. with the black in the yellow it tones down the yellow and looks great

roguequilter 09-08-2017 02:48 PM

this will be a stunning quilt in these colors and that block pattern. it is a vintage block design & it is called 'windmill'. many antique & vintage quilts were made with blocks like this in just two colors.

i think they look great! placing edge to edge in the 'tileing' manner like you're showing is what makes vintage quilts look so wonderful to me. and from the looks of the quilt your blocks are laying on, you'll have wonderful open space for fun quilting motif. black is my fave color, nearly all my quilts are black based, except for quilts for my two grand treasures, and hand or machine quilting on black can be difficult. one small wall quilt i used a dark wine red thread to quilt and the friend i made it for is still pulling it down off the wall to share when her quilting group meets at her place.

Reba'squilts 09-09-2017 03:18 AM

They really are nice together. I think your pinwheels are fine!

connie d 09-09-2017 02:37 PM

This is how two rows look together, glad I reread the directions before completing all blocks.

Great color choices and great pattern. This is coming together so beautifully. It is always good to ( re-read) instructions before final construction. :) sometimes we it makes a huge difference.
This is going to be a very striking quilt.

buddy'smom 09-11-2017 02:51 AM

Thanks so much, think I still need to make 4 more blocks and than the finale border.
