Has anyone ever made a quilt that looks like you're looking out a window? It's 3-D and depending on the center fabric- can look like the sky or flower garden etc. My daughter just started a new job and has no windows in her office--- thought it might make it more bearable.

Attic Windows is a pattern that will make it look like you are looking out a window, but it's one dimensional. It will definitely give the illusion you're looking for.

What a nice, generous idea!

I've seen a quilt like that on display somewhere and it was beautiful. It looked like they had just taken a large piece of "scenery" fabric (it was a winter scene), cut it into 9 equal size pieces and then put it back together with a 2-inch sashing between all pieces and a border to match the sashing.
