Window Sill?
 

I know many of you will know the answer to this question. What is the name of the pattern that looks like you're looking through windows? Each block has a square and then a bottom sash and a side with a miter, which form the side of the window and the sill.

Seems like it's called 'attic window'.

There are free patterns for it also.

I also know it as "Attic Windows".

Yes, it is attic windows. So many names to remember, some just escape.

Sounds like attic window, but I'm no expert.

Could be the "shadow box" you are thinking of.

Have a pattern of this and the slanted corner looks rather daunting. Has anyone been successful at this? Once saw a quilt in this pattern, and that specific corner was a sewn-in half-square triangle, w/ the matching colors of the "sills"!
