WIP needs a pop of a third color
I am making a dark brown and pale pink quilt. It needs a pop of a bright color. I am thinking of a lime green. Any opinions/suggestions ?? The pattern is a twisted 4 patch. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Do you have a pic you can post?
A yellow might really work.

picture of the fabrics, the quilt, the pattern It's always hard to visualize without knowing what you're working with!! |
Lime sounds like a winner to me!
lime green sounds great to me
The lime green sounds great! Do hope we can see pics too! :)
Lime green sound good to me!
What about turquoise?
I like the idea of yellow!
Turquoise blue seems to be the trend with brown these days
It entirely depends on the mood you want the quilt to have.
Brown, pink, and yellow would be a soft, warm, calm analogous scheme (colors next to each other on the color wheel). Brown is actually just a saturated orange. Brown, pink and green would be a more contrasting complementary scheme (colors opposite each other on the color wheel) which has added zip. Brown, pink, and turquoise is straight from the 50's and would give the quilt a very retro feel. |
Next time i have a color question - i'm PMing you ghostrider !!!!! Your analysis was perfect !
That said...my choice would be turquoise. |
lime greens is a good choice. or turquoise. I love lime green. just found a UFO top and it has a lime border already. I like it, so i may finish it!
Thanks everyone...I just bought some lime green and I am not sure it is going to work but if it doesn't, then I will use the turquoise. I am not good at posting pictures but I will try again when this quilt is finished. Thanks again. These board members are sooooo helpful.

I think orange would be a good color. But of course a pic of the pattern and fabrics would help with suggestions.
i think lime would work really well
How about hot pink?
Maybe even a brighter pink as a third color.
A rich teal color would be really pretty and make your quilt pop!

Try aqua, it works well with both the pink & brown.
The first color that popped in my head is turquoise.
If you have a color wheel, the color opposite of the one you are using usually makes a good color to use..I was thinking of a bright teal or aqua, that would go good with both of those colors. LOL i just read the two post b4 mine and see great minds work alike.
I would make it a bright color, for sure. Either turquoise, bright yellow, lime or orange.
Have you thought of staying within the same colors but going a lot darker and or brighter, for instance, a raspberry would really set off a brown and lighter pink quilt

Lime, turquoise or yellow? I think Lime!
A soft teal would also be an option. Very modern and trendy which would make a quilt that reflected current color choices.
