Wish all selvages had this on them -
Some manufacturers - like Alexander Henry - include the date on the selvage. I wish they all did.

just another reason why i like his fabs. one of my favorites were "the harder they fall" and "Mr. Toad gets dressed""

There are so many reasons to love Alexander Henry's fabrics!

I imagine a lot of quilt shops wouldn't like it because they would have to put older fabrics on sale. You could always mark when you buy it on the selvage with a sharpie.
|
Most quilt stores do reduce price on older fabrics in order to have room for new collections. The exception are essentials like muslins, Kona, some 30's, etc.
But some fabrics don't even have anything on the salvage except the color dots..I would like at least the code number if not the name, manufacturer ..something to help you find it if you need some more of that particular color. |

I especially like dates on the 1800's reproductions.
|
That would be amazing! Wonder how we can get them to do this???

Some 1800's reproductions do have circa dates on them, and I love those!
