Ohh, that's a good one! But, alas, no, I work for one of those passive/agressive companies that doesn't give a set number of days to use up. We can't roll over unused vacation either. I know I shouldn't wish my life away, but....... It makes it a bit easier to know I am not the only one ;) ;) |
As awful as it sounds I'm wishing for rain this weekend so I can stay cooped up in the motorhome and sew for 4 straight days, while we're doing the "family" camping trip with my husbands family.

I'm retired and loving it. I quilt almost everyday. Make 3-4 charity quilts a month, helping to teach a "Sylvia Bridal" quilt class and have my own quilts and applique in progress. Hang in there! Retirement is good!!!!

My job just changed, for the positive, but now instead of 3 years to retirement, it will be 5 or 6 years. The summer has been glorious because I can reduce my work load. But "rats" the craziness of a new school year has begun and I am having to sneak in quilting at least for the next few weeks. I am praying, not really, perhaps hoping, for a really yucky Labor Day week-end so I can quilt from dawn until I drop into bed at night. So many quilting plans and so little time!

I have been staying at home for 5 years now and have done less quilting now than ever. Someone always has something for me to do or I take off and travel to see the younguns. I think the key would be that the hubby still needs to work because when he is always under foot you cannot get focused.

I stay at home and have the same problem. Just because you are at home doesn't mean you get to quilt as much as you want especially if your family knows you want to quilt! Life gets in the way a lot. LOL

I have my own bookkeeping business only open Mon-Thurs. When all the work is done, I get to sew. Usually the last week and a half, there isn't to much to do except payrolls, and I let my employee do all of those so I am not interupted with my sewing. I rather pay her full time to do nothing so I can make quilts. My clients like that I am available instead of closing early and are used to watching me make the quilts. But I still would like to be retired from the office and spend more time learning to use my quilting machine to the fullest.

I work out of my home... and find it very frustrating that what I really want to be doing is in the next room... playing with my fabric, cutting, piecing, trimming, etc. I don't want to rush my time here on earth... however, I'd rather be quilting!!!!!!!
