You can do it ... can't wait to see your new project!

Good luck and go buy yourself a card table that you can sew on then fold away when finished. Claim your Mojo lol.

sounds like you need a quilting buddy -- are there any other quilters around you? a guild or bee or LQS? the jacket sounds like a good project to get you back into quilting

Would a card table work? I mean to use for your sewing machine. I used one for a long time before I got a sewing room. I also used PVC pipes placed on the legs when I wanted it higher for cutting. Worked quite well. Would much rather have what I have now but it was do-able. ♥♥

Get a box that is the right heighth and put the foot pedal on it. This way you can use your dining room table. Oh and use the rubber drawer liners for the top of the box so the pedal won't slip off. Good luck. Where there is a will there is a way.

Hang in there, Wanda. I moved here from NH 25 years ago and felt just like you. I didn't know how to quilt back then, but took an adult ed class, then joined a local guild. The first year I was "volunteered" be be chairman of the boutique at our quilt show. I was terrified, but it was the best thing to happen. I met a lot of wonderful quilters. Now I go to a weekly quilting bee and it is the best day of the week for me. I love it down here.

I think you have to have a very frank discussion with your husband and tell him how you feel. But, also, give Florida a fair trial. You may learn to love it also.

It sounds like you have gotten some good ideas here so mostly I wanted to wish you good luck! I have a feeling that you will feel so good once you find a way to use your machine. That is what happened to me after I didn't sew for years and now I won't give it up.

Let us know how it goes. I will be thinking about you. :D

I can sympathize with you. I don't like the heat and would never part with my sewing space. Time to get a different dining table and chairs, so you have a place to sew. Bet he does a lot of golfing or outside activities and you are entitled to your hobby too.
