At guild we put our name in for the door prize draw if we've "remembered" to bring our name tag. So won the prize last night, it's a panel with "squares" but they measure approx. 10 - 10 ½" inch depending which one I measure. Wonder if anyone can give me a suggestion as to what to make with them. I will cut them apart into blocks, but there's only 8 of them, so makes it a little tricky trying to figure out how to lay them out. Thanks for any suggestions!

Congrats on winning!

I mentally rearranged them, and found that it didn't look right.
I'm waiting for your final answer, and want to see what you do with such a lovely bit of quilting. |
wow those are awesome...I don't have a clue though how to use them...they are the type of thing that lives in my sewing room for years because I don't want to cut them up!

If they are all different, I don't think I would cut them up. I would put on some borders and use it for a table runner or a wall hanging, then do some really nice quilting. It is really pretty!

if you can not come with any ideas....SEND THEM TO ME!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to suggest that you cut them apart and use the purple and blue in solid or solid appearing fabrics to set them off and then border with black. It will be lovely

I agree with Vickie

Congrats on your win. You could alternate them with another type block.
|
Alternate with another type of block, or maybe just a texture block.

I would put them on point .3 blocks top row 2 blocks middle row 3 blocks bottom row with sashing between blocks . use triangles on corners and sides .Congratulations on your win. Im sure whatever you make it will be beautiful.

How about cutting them apart, doing a square in a square with them, separate them by a black sashing, but, put them on point. If you do a 3 x 4 block on point, it should give you a decent size lap quilt and you could use white or purple for your setting squares. Would love to see pics of your final decision. BTW, the extra square could be a matching pillow or a block on the back.

Actually I've found the perfect thing to do with this! My friend likes it, so it's off to live at her place. The challenge is 4 squares only have ¼" separating them, and then there's a wider space down the middle.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll pass them along to her. |
I'd cut them and put them on point. Fill in the gaps with 9 or 16 patches of various blues. Use white as the contrast.
